Biography

Ana de Sousa Baptista is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, working and living between Lisbon, Portugal and Maputo, Mozambique. Ana de Sousa Baptista has developed higher studies in Law, Psychology, Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, as well as several specializations in mental health and well-being. She is a staunch advocate that there is no health without mental health and emotional, social, spiritual well-being; being fully committed to more including and sustainable education, allowing the integration of mental health and wellbeing as a primary need, free of stigma and prejudice, at all levels of society and communities. Ana considers that education, along with mental health and wellbeing, are two of the essential foundations for an effective development of society. This is also why it focuses her interests on mental health policies. Coming into contact with cultures and needs so different over the years, she acquired the awareness that health is everyone's right and deserved by all.
